We called them because we locked ourselves outside our flat and they told us someone would be with us within 20 to 30 minutes. Instead the guy arrived here 50 minutes after the call and while he was fast in getting us into the flat within minutes we did complain that he was very late and so we asked to get at least a discount. The man started shouting at us immediately and he was suddenly extremely rude, calling us names and saying that he hated "these kind of people". He said he should throw us out of our flat and close the door again and leave! So we called the company before paying and they told us they don't offer discounts for being late. So as the man took the payment he kept shouting at us and was complaining that we did not want to pay him (even though our card was in the card reader already and the payment had already gone through). As he walked away he even started threatning us and kept yelling the entire time but we could not understand half of what he was saying at that point. Just so you know who we are referring to he was a tall and large man with a foreign accent.
Be very careful with dealing with this company - they will do their best to overcharge you on parts, attempting to make up to 400% profit! The people that came round to fix my front door handle initially tried to charge me £120+VAT for a replacement door handle. When he saw how visibly shocked I was, he then tried to engage me in a bartering process, which eventually ended up with me paying £87+VAT. When I later looked online, I saw that these typically retail for £30.I obviously understand that a call out company isn’t going to be able to match online prices, but attempting to make 300-400% profit on parts on top of a £59+VAT call out charge for a 15 minute visit, is excessive and a frankly unethical attempt to take advantage of a customer.I approached the company about this, but they were unable to confirm the cost price of the item or provide any evidence that the locksmith didn’t make such a steep profit. They did however refund me £20.I also encourage you to look at other reviews for this company, as you’ll see reports of some customers being overcharged by £900, so I guess I got off lucky!
Positive: I locked myself out and the locksmith opened my door quickly. Negatives: 1) I was quoted on the phone a minimum of £79, if the easiest method worked (which was the case), however the 'quote' didn't include VAT. The actual minimum was £94.80, which I was charged. I had to call the company to check that their technician wasn't ripping me and them off. If they had given me the correct minimum quote initially, it would have saved me the shock and confusion and allowed me to more accurately compare the quote with other companies quotes. 2) I prearranged a time, but was left standing in the cold for 38 minutes - perhaps expecting too much, but this could have been managed a lot better with clearer communication from the company.
I called to see how long it would take for someone to get to my house to make me a door key, they told me 20-25 minutes which is very fast. He told me someone would give me a call back and sure enough almost instantly, the locksmith told me he would be there in 6 minutes!!!! And he was on point with time! Great guy and knows what he is doing and will do his best to make sure you're satisfied! Great company and great workers. Thanks again!
My husband and I locked ourselves out of our home by leaving key in lock inside. After ringing this company the guy arrived within 45 minutes and he had us in r home within 30 seconds. No damages to property. Job well done. But I do hope I never lock us out again but if I did I would definitely ring this company. Thank you.
I needed an upgrade to the locks for my front door. Tom came out and installed the deadbolt that I had purchased, but he recommended that I return the other lock for a different model, given my configuration. It required a second trip on his part to install the second lock once it arrived, which he did with no additional charge. After the locks were installed he made adjustments to the doors that improved their action. I am very satisfied with the knowledgeable and skillful work I received.
Absolute theiving cowboys. Called as lock stopped working on the door. Tried to ask for the lowest price of locks before committing they said they have lots and couldn't tell me, before I had a chance to query further said the guy will be with you in 30mins (already provided address) and promptly hung up.The lock smith turned up over an hour later. Had taken the original lock out then offered two locks 1 for £124 and another for £174. This is on top of the £69.00 for labour and VAT. Total cost came to just under £200. Felt we had no option to leave the lock as the locksmith sent was very rude and abrupt, arguing with us before he even started the job. Even one point shouting as his misinterpreted what I said about the landlord paying and not me (he took it that i wasn't going to pay him). Then refused to provide the landlord (who was on the phone) with an opportunity to pay by invoice demanding payment on the day. Avoid!!Worst customer service and lack of transparency on charges.
One star because I think it was way too expensive. I called about 5.45pm Saturday because my patio door would not unlock. I was charged £49.00 for the broken lock to be removed, £59.00 for a new lock to be fitted and £136.00 for the lock itself. With VAT it came to £292.80!!! A bit steep for less than an hours work and one lock...2 weeks later...a very nice lady from Keys 4U got in touch after seeing my review to talk about it with me. Apparently I was mistakenly overcharged for the labour...so she offered to refund £49.00 without any further ado. This has now happened. I have no complaints at all about this company’s customer service. I am giving her *****
I locked myself out of my house! Locksmith arrived well within the predicted time. He was well mannered. He got to the problem quickly, opened the door within minutes. The charge was similar to other companies in the area, I have no complaints. Thank you all concerned.
